06/05/2018 - 27/05/2018.

Press release:

DASH proudly presents the solo exhibition 'Polishing my fake patina' by Jonathan van Doornum.
The title stems from the idea that a false authentic feeling is polished. This throws light on the appearance of originality and the questioning of it.

Jonathan Van Doornum, born in 1987, lives and works in Zwolle, the Netherlands.
He previously participated in residency programs at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam, WIELS in Brussels and Stiftung Künstlerdorf Schöppingen and Schloss Ringenberg in Germany.

Jonathan van Doornum mainly works as a sculptor and installation artist.
His work consists of elements based on the urban Dutch landscape to everyday objects.
In van Doornum's oeuvre, it is remarkable that the division between interior and exterior is very present. In this exhibition, the duality will be explored through the works . He selected several sculptures from his varied oeuvre that can serve as a brief summary of the past two years.
